On the 11th of March 2016, Zuva Petroleum officially launched the much awaited Zuva Fuel Card and Coupon. The launch event was held at Wild Geese and attended by members of the media, dignitaries and captains of industry. The guest of honour at the launch was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Dr. John Mangudya. His passion on the migration from cash to a plastic society made him the perfect individual to speak with authority on Zuva’s launch of these two products.
According to statistics produced end of last year, the value of mobile and internet based transactions rose by 43,2 percent in the first four months of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014, an indication that there continues to be a growing number of people embracing the use of plastic money. Card based transactions increased from approximately $430 million in March 2015 to $433 million in April of the same year.
These statistics convey the message that our society is embracing the use of plastic money as a convenient tool for every day transactions.
“When I was informed that Zuva Petroleum was launching a fuel card and coupon in the market, I was ecstatic. This is exactly what industries need to be doing, finding alternative transaction methods for the convenience of their customers. What impressed me even more is that this card will not only work as a fuel wallet, but can be enabled to transact as an FBC bank card should you wish to activate it. When Zuva Petroleum say Innovation is in their DNA, they are not speaking pretty words to impress us – they are living and breathing their beliefs and the production of such a unique offering is evidence of this. They even add a nice little touch by personalizing the fuel card!” exclaimed the Governor.
The Governor complimented the Zuva Chairman Mr. John Mushayavanhu and the Zuva CEO, Mr. Bethwell for been revolutionaries in the energy industry.
“Zuva Petroleum has also decided to complement this card offering with a coupon product. I’m sure most of us in here have used coupons before although I doubt many have used coupons that match the standards produced by Zuva, unless you are a customer of theirs for this product already. The use of coupons is advantageous to the customer as it offers security as cash carries a big risk of loss as well as flexibility as it enables access to fuel at many different access points,” he added.
The sign up process for the card is very simple, all customers need to do is to log onto the Zuva website and sign up. For those that require coupons, all they need to do is to visit Zuva Head Office and they will be efficiently assisted.
